While polygamy is not uncommon in certain parts of Uganda, the scale and composition of this particular marriage have piqued public interest. The inclusion of two sisters among the seven wives adds a layer of complexity to the situation, generating questions about legality, ethics, and social dynamics.

The remarkable wedding ceremony of seven wives including two sisters that took place on Sunday, September 10th and it began as early as 8 am when the seven brides embarked on a journey to local salons for styling.

The brides included Rashidah, Aisha, Fatuma, Shanifah, Mariam, Zainah, and Aisha, who were subsequently transported in Super Custom vans.

Ingrid Tulinawe, a former member of the FDC and a vocal advocate for various social issues in Uganda, has not remained silent on the matter. She has shared her views and raised several pertinent questions, challenging the societal norms and perceptions surrounding this polygamous marriage.

“Why do I think these women need to be rescued? Which kind of love is this? Is it love or abuse?” she questioned.
“Who is the religious leader that officiated over this wedding? Which religion? Which vows?” she asked.
“How can we continue to look on while society decays to this level? Is it witchcraft?” she added.

However, her concerns revolve around the issue of consent and the potential for coercion or abuse within such a union, especially when two sisters are involved. Ingrid Tulinawe's questions prompt a deeper exploration of the dynamics at play and whether this marriage genuinely reflects the choices and desires of all parties involved.
