President Museveni Unveils Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium Revamp by Businessman Hamis Kiggundu
With the renovation of Mandera National Stadium, Uganda now proudly possesses two top-tier football arenas ready for international competitions.
President Kaguta Museveni officially unveiled the newly renovated Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium. Developed by businessman Hamis Kiggundu.
Following its renovation, the Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium now hosts up to 20,000 spectators, a significant increase in seating capacity.

The Stadium has the potential to develop into a hub for a variety of sports, including bodybuilding, volleyball, netball, basketball, and athletics. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as a medical center, eateries, and a gym, it has the potential to completely transform Uganda's sporting landscape.
These occurred at a time when Uganda's prominence on the continent was set to be further enhanced by the possibility of co-hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations finals with Tanzania and Kenya, its neighbors.
