English football club Manchester United has successfully completed the signing of Cameroonian shot-stopper Andre Onana from Italian Serie A side Inter Milan for a staggering fee of 51 million euros (approximately $57 million).

Andre Onana, widely regarded as one of the most promising goalkeepers in world football, brings a wealth of talent and experience to Old Trafford. The 26-year-old shot-stopper has been a standout performer for Ajax Amsterdam in the Eredivisie and the UEFA Champions League before making the switch to Inter Milan.

The transfer announced on Thursday will see the 27-year-old join United on a five-year contract as United will have to pay 4 million euros ($4.5m) in add-ons, dependent on his success at the club.
“To join Manchester United is an incredible honour, and I have worked hard all my life to get to this moment, overcoming many obstacles along the way,” Onana said.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper is considered one of the best in the world and is expected to be the long-term successor to David de Gea after 12 years at the club.
It should be noted that Onana spent only one season at Inter, where he won the Italian Cup and Super Cup as he also helped the club reach the Champions League final.
