Microsoft Revamps Windows Insider Program for Smoother Windows 11 Development
The introduction of the Canary channel suggests that Microsoft is preparing for the launch of Windows 12
Microsoft has recently announced a revamped version of its Windows Insider program to ensure a smoother windows 11 development process.
Windows Insider is an open software testing program by Microsoft that allows users globally who own a valid license of Windows 11, Windows 10, or Windows Server to register for pre-release builds of the operating system previously only accessible to software developers.
The company aims at streamlining the process of receiving feedback and using it to improve the development of its new operating system.
The Windows Insider program was first introduced in 2014, allowing users to test early builds of Windows 10 and provided feedback to Microsoft.
The program proved to be successful with over 18 million insiders providing feedback to Microsoft over the years
Now, with the development of windows 11 underway, Microsoft is making changes to the Insiders with more frequent builds to test, enabling them to provide feedback at faster pace.
Microsoft will also offer more communication channels for Insiders to share their feedback, such as new web forum that will allow users to submit hug reports and suggestions.
Another significant change to the Windows Insider Program is the introduction of channels. Microsoft will offer three different channels for Insiders to choose from, depending on their preferences and willingness to test more experimental builds. The Dev channel will provide Insiders with the most frequent and earliest builds, while the beta Channel will offer more stable builds with fewer bugs.

The Release preview Channels will provide Insiders with the final build before it is released to the public.
The revamped Windows Insider program is a testament to the company’s commitment to delivering a seamless windows 11 experience to users.
By providing more opportunities for users to provide feedback, Microsoft hopes to create a more polished operating system that meets needs of its diverse user base.
Microsoft has announced the addition of a new channel, the Canary channel, to the program, which will allow users to test the newest and potentially most unstable versions of the OS. The Canary channel is similar to beta and developer versions of web browsers that offer early access to new features in development
