As the 2024 East African Secondary School Games approach, all eyes are on Bukedea Sports Park, the newly yet to be unveiled venue today by President Museveni is set to host this prestigious event.

According to Bukedea District officials, President Yoweri Museveni is this weekend expected to commission the multimillion Bukedea Sports Park hosting the Federation of East African Secondary Sports Associations (FEASSA) games 2024.
The development was Saturday confirmed by the Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament who is also the Bukedea District Woman MP, Rt Hon Anita Annet Among X saying the new facility which will be opened by the President will greatly promote sports in the Bukedea community.

The commissioning of the Bukedea Sports Park which includes a football stadium, an indoor sports arena, and an Olympic-size swimming pool is slated to take place on Sunday, 18th, August 2024 ahead of the Federation of East African Secondary Sports (FEASSSA).


“Tomorrow, we will welcome our great leader and father, H.E. Gen @KagutaMuseveni, to Bukedea. He will officially open the Bukedea Sports Park, which includes a football stadium, an indoor sports arena, and an Olympic-size swimming pool hosting the FEASA games,” Hon Among posted via X on Saturday evening.


The Speaker also welcomed young athletes from across the East African region on Saturday including Kenya and Tanzania ahead of the FEASSAA games 2024 kicking off today, Sunday.

Bukedea RDC, Mr. William Wilberforce Tukei, urged the local community to attend the official launch of the stadium in large numbers, emphasizing its significance as the first facility of its kind in both the district and the region.
