Arsenal Holds Bayern to a 2-2 Stalemate in Champions League Clash

In a gripping Champions League encounter, Arsenal held Bayern Munich to a tense 2-2 stalemate, showcasing their resilience and determination on the European stage.

Mikel Arteta's team took the lead early on thanks to a beautiful curling strike from Bukayo Saka, but Bayern quickly equalized through former Gunner Serge Gnabry, taking advantage of some shoddy defending.

After Leroy Sane was brought down by William Saliba, former Tottenham striker Harry Kane calmly converted a penalty kick for his 15th goal in 20 outings versus Arsenal. However, the hosts equalized in the second half when Leandro Trossard slammed home a ball from fellow substitute Gabriel Jesus.

Even though Arsenal had the majority of the possession, the six-time champion Bayern had the better opportunities, most notably in the ninetieth minute when Kingsley Coman's close-range shot struck the post and in stoppage time when Saka's penalty plea was turned down. Next Wednesday, Bayern will play Arsenal at the Allianz Arena in the second leg, despite their supporters not being present at the Emirates Stadium because of a UEFA ban.
