Bobi Wine Urges Dokolo Voters to Support NUP's Ageno in Woman MP By-election
The polling day for District Woman Representative to Parliament and other Local Government Councillors is scheduled for Thursday, March 21st, 2024.
The National Unity Platform (NUP) President, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, has called on voters in Dokolo District to vote for Harriet Ageno in the upcoming Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament by-election.
The NUP leader was Sunday, March 17th 2024 holding a campaign rally in Angwencibangi Primary School, Dokolo Town Council, Dokolo District which is gearing up to replace its WMP Cecilia Atim Ogwal who died on 18 January 2024.
Wine urged the voters to come in large numbers and make their voice heard through voting, while also urging them to guard their votes against theft.
“For long, Dokolo district in particular and Northern Uganda have been kept in poverty, if you think I am lying look at your roads, hospital and schools. Uganda is very rich but, Ugandans are very poor because all the money they get from our taxes is stolen by the NRM government,” Bobi Wine said.
He reminded people of the challenges facing the country and emphasized the need to deliver the nation from the mess. Wine emphasized that Uganda is rich, but the money from taxes is stolen by the NRM government. He urged the people of Dokolo to create a new Uganda where everyone is equal before and under the law.
