Exclusive: NRM's Todwong Applauds Nationwide Success of Party Membership Register Update

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has declared the five-day exercise of updating its membership register a successful activity across the country.

The exercise began on Wednesday, March 13th, and ended on Sunday, March 17th in all 72,000 villages/branches across the 18 zonal regions of the NRM. Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong confirmed that the exercise ended peacefully with a few concerns.

He acknowledged that some places, such as Apaa in Amuru, Tororo, Mityana, and Rubanda districts, faced issues during the registration exercise but assured that these were being resolved by the secretariat.

Todwong also noted that the party is not considering any extension despite complaints of low publicity of the service. The updated 'Yellow Books' will undergo a thorough review at zonal centers before data is fed into the digital bank.

Todwong assured members, especially students currently in school, that there would be another opportunity for them to register in the holidays before the party embarks on preparing for internal elections.

He thanked NRM members and the general public for their participation, indicating that NRM is still very popular.
