The visit, characterized by diplomatic dialogue and a focus on fostering economic synergy, marks a milestone in the relations between the two nations. President Raisi's arrival in Uganda has generated considerable anticipation, as it presents a valuable opportunity for both countries to strengthen their bilateral ties across various domains.

The visit holds the promise of enhanced cooperation in sectors such as trade, investment, technology, agriculture, and education. Against the backdrop of Uganda's strategic location and Iran's regional influence, this visit carries the potential to open new avenues of collaboration and mutually beneficial partnerships.

This is the first trip to Africa by an Iranian president in the past 11 years, according to a report by the Iranian official news agency IRNA.

The tour is aimed at improving political and trade cooperation with the three African states and diversifying Iran’s export destinations, the IRNA said.
