2022 World Cup winner Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema were announced Friday as the three finalists for FIFA's The Best award.
These three players have been household names in the football world for years and their impact on the game has been immense.

French International Kyalian Mbappe on the other hand is one of the hottest prospects in the game, with lightning fast pace and incredible finishing abilities that have earned him reputation as one of the most exciting young players in the world.
Meanwhile Karim Benzema also French international has been a consistent scorer for Real Madrid, helping the team to win several titles including UEFA champions League.
However, regardless of who wins, the fact that these three players are in contention for the award is a testament to their incredible talent and impact on the game.
Alexia Putellas of Spain, England forward Beth Mead and US star Alex Morgan were also nominated for the top women's prize.
It should be noted that Messi and Mbappe, faced each other in last year's World Cup final whereas Benzema won last year's Ballon d'Or for his performances with Real Madrid but missed the World Cup because of injury.
The winners will be revealed on February 27 in Paris France where he will be voted for by a jury made up of national team coaches and captains as well as journalists and fans.
