Manchester City lost their grip on top spot in the Premier League after a late goal from Chris Wood denied them victory against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Manchester United enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford, thanks to two goals from Marcus Rashford. The brace made this Rashford’s most prolific season ever and also helped Erik ten Hag’s side move within three points to Manchester City in the Premier League second place.
United have made Old Trafford a fortress again under Ten Hag, extending their unbeaten home run to 17 games, ahead of the visit of Barcelona on Thursday for the second leg of their Europa League play-off game with the tie finely poised at 2-2. Manchester United then faces Newcastle three days later in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

“We dropped points because we didn’t score more - and we could have also defended with more energy for their goal.’’ Guardiola said
“The way we played was brilliant. We should have been 3-0 up at half-time but then we conceded one shot on target and dropped points.
“We had a good victory at Arsenal. Today we played even better against a team that defended with nine players in their box.
“But when you miss so many chances just one metre from the goal…what can I say?
“After games like that, you don’t say anything to the players. You just go home and go to sleep and think about the next game.” He added.
Now Arsenal leads the table with 54 points, Manchester city second with 52 points, Manchester United third with 49 points the Tottenham Hotspur forth with 42 points with a few matches each to end the season.
