Kenya's Beatrice Chebet took the honours at the World Cross Country Championships in Bathurst, Australia following a dramatic women's senior win race on Saturday (18 February).
Chebet, 22, managed to take the women's title in a dramatic closing stage which saw her Ethiopian rival Letesenbet Gidey collapse within sight of the tape.

Chebet completed the 10km-course in 33 minutes 48 seconds.
Long-time leader and reigning world 10,000m champion Letesenbet Gidey of Ethiopia looked certain to take victory as she held a commanding lead inside the last kilometre of the 10km race.
Gidey was later disqualified after being illegally helped to her feet before reaching the finish.
Ethiopian Tsigie Gebreselama took the silver medal and Agnes Jebet Ngetich from Kenya came third.

These include Uganda's defending champion Joshua Cheptegei, teammate Jacob Kiplimo and Kenya's two-time winner Geoffrey Kamworor.
Uganda’s Kiplimo made his move and it proved by came home nine seconds clear of Ethiopia's Berihu Aregawi with Olympic 5000m gold medallist Cheptegei as Kamworor won bronze.
