Namanve Steema Industries Investor Charged with Rape of Job Seeker.
“Sher Singh Shekhawat on February 13, 2023, at Steema industries- Namanve- Goma Sub County in Mukono District, had unlawful carnal knowledge with a woman… without her consent,” part of charge sheet reads.
Mukono Chief Magistrates Court has charged Namanve Steema Industries Investor located in Wakiso district with rape of a female job seeker last Friday.
Singh Sher Shekhawat, an Indian national and a resident of Naalya, Kira Municipality in Wakiso District, was accused of raping a woman (name withheld) who had allegedly visited the factory in search of a job on February 13 this year.

He faces charges of rape, contrary to Section 123 and 124 of the Penal Code Act, 1950.
“Sher Singh Shekhawat on February 13, 2023, at Steema industries- Namanve- Goma Sub County in Mukono District, had unlawful carnal knowledge with a woman… without her consent,” part of charge sheet reads.
This was presented before Grade One Magistrate Maureen Mukoya and according to her, since Rape is a capital offence; Singh was not allowed to plead to the charges, before he was remanded to Kauga Prison.
According to Article 123 of the Penal Code Act, 1950, any person who has unlawful carnal knowledge of a woman or girl, without her consent, or with her consent, if the consent is obtained by force or by means of threats or intimidation of any kind or by fear of bodily harm, or by means of false representations as to the nature of the act, or in the case of a married woman, by personating her husband, commits the felony termed rape.
