Police on the Hunt for Security Guard Who Shot Civilian at Kisenyi Mall

In a shocking turn of events, the police at Old Kampala Division are actively searching for a security guard who allegedly shot and injured a civilian at a mall in Kisenyi, a city suburb. The incident, which took place on Monday evening, involved a security guard from SGA who is reported to have fired at a man suspected of criminal activity.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that the suspect identified as Kalyebi Ismail, a security guard attached to SGA, was on duty at Gwanda Mall when he arrested Katongole, whom he suspected to be a criminal.
“During the arrest, a struggle ensued, and Katongole overpowered Kalyebi Ismail. In response, Kalyebi shot Katongole once in the waist, thereby disabling him,” Mr Owoyesigyire stated in a police statement on Tuesday afternoon.
“Upon receiving information about the incident, the territorial police units of Muzaana and Old Kampala responded to the scene and managed to evacuate the victim to Mulago Hospital, where he is currently admitted with a gunshot wound to the stomach,” he added.
