Deputy Police Inspector Surveys Jinja's Nyege Nyege & Kyabazinga’s Royal Wedding Sites
In a bid to ensure the safety and security of upcoming events in Jinja, Deputy Inspector General of Police Geoffrey Katsigazi Tumusiime spent a significant part of Wednesday conducting a thorough reconnaissance mission at the Nyege Nyege and Kyabazinga's Royal Wedding venues.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police has expedited his visit to Jinja. He aims to evaluate the security status in preparation for the upcoming Nyege Nyege and Kyabazinga Royal Wedding celebrations.
Katsigazi assured the country that security agencies are ready and able to protect revellers at both festivities despite the terror alerts foreign powers.
Katsigazi survey in Jinja comes after terror alerts from the United States and United Kingdom governments, cautioning of a potential terrorist threat in Uganda.
Accompanied by different Security Chiefs in UPDF and Police, the team first made a reconnaissance at Source of the Nile and the Agricultural show Ground where Nyege Nyege will take place.
There after they visited Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe where the Royal Wedding Pre Party shall be held this Saturday.
According to Katsigazi security has been beefed up and both venues are secure.
“We have deployed both convert and overt therefore i can assure all those preparing to attend both festivities to come since security has been tightened,” Maj Gen. Geoffrey Katsigazi Tumusiime said.
Nyege Nyege is starting tomorrow 9th November 2023 and 1st Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga is expected to be the Chief Guest at the official opening according to Hellen Namutamba the Tourism Minister, Busoga Kingdom whereas the royal wedding is slated for 18th November 2023.
