From Philly to Kenzo: Born in Africa Song Sparks Debate over Music Legacy
Philly Lutaaya is mostly remembered for the not only his merry Christmas songs but also Alone and Born in Africa among others which continues to dominate airwaves since his death year after year.
Big talented singer Edirisa Musuuza well known as Eddy Kenzo’s brag about how more talented he is than late Philly Bongole Luttaya after Born in Africa song re-do has not created criticism to Kenzo but also debate over music legacy.
Kenzo stated that people are not impressed by his Born in Africa rendition to listen to Philly Bongole Lutaaya’s original version.

Kenzo remade Philly Bongoley Lutaaya’s song titled “Born in Africa” , the star released its audio on 29th /April /2021 as he was releasing his “Made in Africa” album.
The Grammy awards nominee went ahead and released its video this month in February 2023”, speaking after the video’s release amidst criticism.
“I remade Philly Lutaaya’s ‘Born In Africa’ not because I wanted it to elevate me to another level. Personally, I have achieved my goals in music,” Kenzo said.
“I have songs that have 100s of millions of views. His song has just a million views after so many years. That means Philly has no song that is bigger than any of mine. Numbers don’t lie,” He added.
According to Iryn Ntale she thinks that Kenzo is hyped by the Grammy nomination but that is not enough for him to compare himself to a great artist like Philly Lutaaya
