The Extraordinary Story of Habib Nsikonnene, the Ugandan Hajj Who Wedded  Seven Wives, Including Two Sisters

Hajj Habib Nsikonnene, a prominent businessman hailing from Kijjo-Namasengere village in Nakifuma Sub County, Mukono district, central Uganda, made headlines in the region for his remarkable wedding ceremony of seven wives including two sisters that took place on Sunday, September 10th.

 Born into a family with a longstanding tradition of polygamy, Nsikonnene gained widespread attention when he simultaneously married seven wives in a historic event in Nakifuma.

The “historic wedding occasion” began as early as 8 am when the seven brides embarked on a journey to local salons for styling.


The brides included Rashidah, Aisha, Fatuma, Shanifah, Mariam, Zainah, and Aisha, who were subsequently transported in Super Custom vans.
The ceremony continued with the exchange of marital vows, where Hajj Nsikonnene officially united with his seven wives.


Hajj Nsikonnene is Born by Hajj Abdul Ssemakula,who is also married with six wives four of them living under on loaf.
“My grandfather had six wives who were separated by curtains in a single house,” Hajj Ssemakula said.
“My own late father had 5 wives and I myself have four wives who live in one house,” he added.

The remarkable wedding challenged the norm set by the Muslim faith of four wives per husband, stems from his enduring relationships with each of his wives, spanning a minimum of four years.and sparking conversations about the institution of marriage and polygamy in Uganda.


The residents described the wedding as one for history books, while others said the event had cured their jealousy altogether.
