In an unexpected development, three notable leaders from the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party were reportedly kidnapped in Dokolo. This concerning incident took place right before the district's Woman Member of Parliament election.
FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat disclosed that the three party officials, among them his personal assistant Ayub Kigongo, were intercepted while traveling from Bata Town Council to the neighboring Okwalongwen Sub-county. Their intended mission was to deliver funds to party agents.

Nevertheless, according to the party president, the abducted FDC officials were allegedly abandoned in Dokolo Town later on. He further stated that they provided statements to the police in Dokolo, and the Regional Police Commander assured him that measures would be taken to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
