Dokolo District Woman MP Race: Anna Grace Lalam Withdraws, Throws Support Behind NRM Candidate

As the Dokolo District Woman Member of Parliament race concludes its open campaigns today, Ms. Anna Grace Lalam, an independent aspirant with NRM leanings, has withdrawn from the race. She now supports NRM candidate Rose Adongo Elau.

Reliable sources indicate that Ms. Anna Grace Lalam stated President Museveni urged her to step down from the race in support of the NRM party flag-bearer a few days before the voting exercise.

“President called me and stopped me from continuing in the race. I am yet waiting to meet him to finalize certain things with him when he comes then I hold a press briefing,” Ms Lalam said.

The Electoral Commission set for Thursday, March 21, 2024, for the elections to fill the Dokolo Woman MP seat which fell vacant following the death of the Dokolo Woman MP Cecilia Ogwal in January this year
