Museveni in Dokolo to Rally Support for NRM in Woman MP Seat Race

President Museveni visited Dokolo to support the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag bearer Janet Rose Adongo Elau in order securing the Woman MP seat from the opposition. This visit underscores the NRM's determination to win the upcoming election and solidify its position in the district.
President Museveni's arrival via chopper created a buzz in Dokolo before he kicked off his campaign activities. The district is gearing up for polls on Thursday for a by-election to fill the seat left vacant by the passing of Cecilia Atim Ogwal in January. Ogwal, a member of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party, had served as the District Woman MP since Dokolo District was established in 2006 after being carved out of Lira District.
